<p>While I’m pretty sure you already know, let’s talk (again) about what the “Freshman 15” really is — getting fat. Or at least fatter than you were in high school. Students going off to college or universities for the first time are faced with a significant change of routine — and not all of it’s good.</p>
<p>Some of my personal favorites were scheduling all my classes after noon so I could sleep in and stay up late; spending more money on Coachella than food, clothing, and textbooks combined; eating donuts for lunch and possibly dinner — wait a minute! This may have been the moment I fell off the proverbial <a style="text-decoration: none; color: #3f3f3f;" href="https://www.52sl.net/nutrisystem-for-men-reviews/">weight loss</a> wagon!</p>

<p>Don’t get me wrong — you NEED to spend time outside, but you also need to study &#8230; wait, I’m getting off track here (must be the canned wine). Here are a few key bits of information that will help you keep off those sneaky 15 pounds, stay happy, and avoid having a beluga butt.</p>
<h2>10. Keep Your Mealtimes Structured</h2>
<p>Don’t graze all day on unhealthy stuff, and <span style="color: #3f3f3f;"><a style="text-decoration: none; color: #3f3f3f;" href="https://www.52sl.net/nutrisystem-frozen-food/">eat regular meals</a></span> whenever you can. Regular meals will keep your nutrition up and hopefully help you eat healthier than delivery pizza. Fruit is a good compromise: it tastes good if it’s ripe, is nutritious, and is even kind of <a style="text-decoration: none; color: #3f3f3f;" href="https://www.52sl.net/medifast-reviews/">healthy for you</a>. Trust me, it’s good practice for being a grown up!</p>

<p>When you’re a freshman, you’re pretty much required to take a set amount of classes, and you’re usually peeling yourself out of bed in the morning with about five minutes to spare. This means you have to jog (or sprint) across campus, or Tour de France race to get to Comp 101.</p>
<p>If you can breathe while you’re getting there, try to enjoy this time outdoors, because you’ll be sitting in stuffy classrooms packed with hungover college students for the next six hours.</p>
<h2>4. Don’t Drink Sugary Drinks</h2>
<p>We all know Coke and Sprite are bad for us, and that energy drinks are probably killing our brain cells and sperm, but we continue to drink them anyway — mostly because they’re <a style="text-decoration: none; color: #3f3f3f;" href="https://www.52sl.net/nutrisystem-promo-code/">priced at a discount</a> in those machines in the hallways and we’re still thirsty.</p>
<p>Another reason is the dinky drinking fountains that are invariably filled with pulpy paper scraps, regurgitated food, or phlegm some thoughtful classmate coughed up just before you arrived. Take advantage while you don’t have to pay for a hefty gym membership and keep those pounds off with sweat equity. Your body and your next date will thank you for it.</p>

<blockquote><p>They looked at 51 young healthy men and they broke them into two groups. Twenty-nine of which were subjected to stress. They had to place their hand in a bucket of ice water for about three minutes while they were video taped. They then took both groups of men and showed them a series of images comparing two foods; one that was unhealthy but tasty option like a cookie and one that was a healthy but less tasty option like broccoli. They had to pick between these two and at the end they’d be rewarded with one of the options they had chosen. During this time, they also scanned their brains with functional MRIs, to look at what floated at the different parts of the brain. They checked their stress hormone levels and asked them about their level of stress. That was the basis of the study.</p></blockquote>
<p>Dr. Narula goes on to share the interesting findings of the study.</p>

You don’t want to go into the holidays thinking I’m going to engorge myself with everything. So pick those few treats, try to enjoy them, stick to them, but use common sense.</p></blockquote>

<h2>6. Give Yourself An Early Fitness Present</h2>
<p>Start now. Don’t wait. Get some exercise now. According to Dr. Patti:</p>
<blockquote><p>Don’t wait until the first. If you go out, buy yourself a new pair of running shoes or something prior to the holidays, you’ll get in that mode of maybe I should start using them. Get the Fitbit. Start to clock the number of steps that you walk during the day. If you can have a goal during the holidays, you’ll keep your metabolism higher, burning more calories.</p></blockquote>

<blockquote><p>Well obviously, it can be interpreted many different ways but what they’re looking at is, maybe you’re the person who likes to take photos. If you have a camera in your hands and you’re engaged that way, you maybe apt to put less food into your mouth. Another thing is, if you like to walk around with a drink, one of the things I suggest to folks is, tab your drink. Use sparkling water. Put a splash of fruit juice …or sometimes fresh fruit. It’s festive. It looks like a cocktail and it also keeps you hydrated, which many times, during the holidays, we get dehydrated.</p></blockquote>
